Upgrade from MBNA Platinum to MBNA More Rewards Amex

I've been offered an automatic upgrade from my current Platinum account to the More Rewards account(which comes with 2 cards - Amex & Visa) by MBNA without any credit checks. Did any one else get the same offer and is this a good card to 'upgrade to' from the Platinum one?

I don't know the answer to your question (I'm not familiar with those cards though I have other MBNA cards) but I'd say one thing is interesting. MBNA seem to be offering you a non-branded AmEx card (i.e. without an airline or similar sponsor).
They gave up issuing such cards a year or so ago when they were trying to sell their credit card portfolio. It looks as though that policy has changed.
The benefits with the new cards are earnings of 2 points per £ for the AmEx and 1 point per £ for the Visa. How does this compare to your points earning and redeeming on your existing card?
If the same or better, I'd relax. If worse, then either continue or think of an alternative.0
