A random one, iv had 2 green styled templates letters in the past to do with tax paid, tax owed etc.
Never has it come to mind that il get repaid tax back what iv spent so i ask this:
Do we in the Armed Forces get tax repayments? Do we need to do a certain procedure or am i just hopeful thinking?
Many thanks.

Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.

If you earned over £7475 last year, then no
If you will earn over £8105 this year, then no.
Why would yu think you would get some back.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Just wanted to ask as rumour mill is these green tax statement style letters were telling us how much tax we've paid /overpaid and possible claim back.
Thanks thoughBetter to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.0 -
Nice thought lol
My husband was in the Army for 25 years and never got a rebate...They are always spot on with tax payments. He has been out for 2 years and still spot on lol.0 -
By green letters, do you mean the P60?0

What are these green letters that you are talking about/
What do these letters say......make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I spoke to my admin office and such and apparently i may have got all hyped up for nothing. Like you guys said, thanks, They are P60 forms, They are green printed. Basically tells you how much tax youve paid.
I was told i only need it possibly in the future if i was ever needed to claim benefits or if you need to prove your income for a previous tax year.Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.0 -
Two things that might help....
VAT whilst overseas.
You can claim back VAT on items brought and posted to a non EU BFPO. Only certain companies will do this, Others ask for a certificate to prove your entitled.
Tax Rebate.
You can also claim tax back on certain items i.e. professional subscriptions. About 10 years ago they also said that you could claim tax back for laundry. Basically they adjusted the tax code for those who claimed. Im not sure if this is still the case.
