Overdraft

Hi there, this is my first post so please bear with me :)
I currently have 2 bank accounts with the halifax, one I use for bits and pieces (it is in credit) the other one I use for day to day banking and direct debits etc (heavily overdrawn).
I am worried that one day the bank is going to pull it on me and I haven't the funds to repay all at once.
Does anyone know if I can use my bank acc that is in credit for my salary banking and pay a fixed amount monthly into the overdrawn acc until the overdraft is paid off or will they pull it on me because I'm not paying enough into it ?
Thanks in advance :o

it would seem unwide to rock a boat un-necessarily

but how does that help you any more than simply spending less and watching your OD go down?
  • Depends on the bank. Currently they probably don't care as if they cancel your OD they can take the money from the other account after you are paid to pay towards the OD. If you move banks thy can't so may get twitchy.

Some banks also like 10% of the OD balance to be paid in each month.

Do they have a reason to recall it? Defaults on other accounts etc? If so I would get a new account so wages are safe. That's what I did. Don't care if they recall mine....slowly paying it off from another account. RBS that is with.
