Vent - thieves at the gym!

Ok, so I'm a member of The Gym Group in Leicester, and I've got to say for the price (£10.99 a month) nothing else comes close! It's well kitted out, repairs are carried out quickly, it's always clean, no complaints there.
I got to the gym every week day morning about 6am when it's at it's most quiet. Most of us down there know eachother by face and say "morning" etc.
Over the past week or so I've noticed a lot of new faces in the morning, and this morning I come down from my workout to find someone has broken into my locker, gone through my things and stolen my headphones (about the only thing of value unless they wanted my jacket spud or deodorant!).
I should count myself lucky that's all they took, and that I had my phone in my pocket, but it just annoys me that someone would do this! I'd love to have caught them in the act!
I've reported it to the gym, but it's now made me apprensive about going back.

How did they break in? Could only be a handful of people done it and they would have swiped in at the gates too? Suppose cant prove it.
I always wary about using these lockers, keeping car keys in there (i.e. if swimming) means could be risking a £30k car being half inched!
When using my council gym I usually keep my bag in the gym with me nowadays. Bit of a ball ache but they have had lockers broken into before so don't want to take the chace. Otherwise I sometimes just leave my phone in the car boot along with house keys so only have (plastic) car key on me along with towel and water then shower at home.0 -

they forced the padlock so must have come equipped for the job.
There were probably about 20 guys in the gym and they all have to use their PIN numbers to enter/leave, but there's no way to narrow it down from there.
They were obviously after my phone, they left my change, wallter etc. They could only steal something small as cctv would catch them leaving with my bag.
My problem is I don't drive so can't leave anything in my car, and need my wallet phone etc as I'm at work for the day after my gym session.
Just one of those things I guess, will buy another padlock and hope it doesn't happen to me again!0 -
Well even if you discovered the culprit, the judge would just commend him on his braveness and let him go.

This happened to my bro at his gym, but he had the keys to his brand new car nicked - dad dropped off the spare set and he was followed home.
Turned into an absolute nightmare! The gym even had the cheek to tell him they wouldn't accept him cancelling his membership and asked why he wouldn't be going back - apparently someone having a key to his car wasn't a good enough reason!0 -
We had a very nice watch stolen from the spa at a relatively posh country house hotel.
My OH left it in the pocket of his robe when he went for a swim and well you can guess the rest.
It was an anniversary gift, that I had given him the night before. Several hundred pounds down the drain.
Of course, hotel not interested, property left at own risk, blah, blah.
