Hi
Can you talk to one of the debt charities, as we do not have your full situation.
I am aware that other posters have been told it is 80-85% or nothing by Barclaycard.
I am also concerned that you might need that £800 for other things over the next few months. In your situation, a token £5 per month could suffice if you talk to a debt charity.
Do you have other debts? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Hi Guys,
To everyone here, Mercers are hard work. Would love to say what i really think but I'm afraid too!
I've been reading with interest the part about claiming charges back, can someone please help me with that? I have all my cards in dispute over credit agreement, but am paying them each month. Some months I have been lte paying, but these late charges would make a massive difference to some of my debt.
Thanks in advance.
And to all of you with Mercers on your back, if you agree a payment plan with them, make sure they send it in writing and also make sure Barclaycard know about it. I had barclaycard chasing me and claiming they knew nothing about the payment plan etc. All very stressful and totally unnesessary.

If payplan is dealing with the debts for you as your appointed representative they must talk to them.

2.7 Dealings with debtors are not to be deceitful and/or unfair.
2.8 Examples of unfair practices are as follows:
c. refusing to deal with appointed or authorised third parties, such
as Citizens Advice Bureaux, independent advice centres or money
advisers
d. contacting debtors directly and bypassing their appointed representatives
As to the phone calls, you can force them to remove your number and write to you, read this post in full. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=11571485&postcount=4Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Don't wish to scare you but Mercers sent someone round to me. I'm female and live on my own and soon told them to bog off!
Just left the meathead standing outside for 20 mins in the pouring rain whilst I had my tea and then I called the police to have him removed for harrassment and tresspass. Well he did call at an inconvenient time and was being a nuisance so what else could I do?
After that, they accepted my dmp and I've heard nothing more and that was over 2 years ago.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Hi all, i`ve just started having issues with the above.I took out a training course with Skills Centre in Oct 2008 financed by Barclays Partner Finance. After a change in circumstances I cancelled this course via Skills Centre.I heard nothing back from them recieving no training welcome letter or training packs.Assumed that was it.However Barclays started taking out the monthly payments a year later (Nov 09)I tried contacting the skills centre via letter and e mail hearing nothing. After much digging I found out they had gone into administration!.The adminitrator appointed another company to train students however they have no record of me or my cancellation?Barclays wont help and have appointed Mercers. Can anyone help!!0

You should go and speak to cab, if you cancelled it you need to check what the terms of cancellation were.
Was the finance taken as part of the course, or did you take out the finance yourself seperatly. If it was combined, when you cancelled the finance should have been cancelled too. However in all circumstances, you should ensure it was cancelled if you don't receive a letter back as it could have got lost in the post.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
