Can you not just revise the category yourself?

It can sometimes take eBay 24 hours to respond to one email.

Thanks, Razor - I have tried several times to change the category myself but it won't let me save and continue; it keeps coming back asking me to complete the relevant fields which I do, then it won't let me save and continue - I'm stuck in a loop with it! Hopefully, eBay will email back so thanks for telling me that they sometimes take 24 hours - I'll have to be patient. I only typed my post here about an hour ago and you have already posted back - it's a pity eBay aren't as efficient as the posters on here!

I would forget emailing them. Go to eBay live help and chat to someone now.

mioliere, you have also posted in the wrong place here, as this is my thread. lol :rotfl: :P just joking of course :D;) I am pretty sure the powers that be in ebay will be able to move your advert. If possible ride it out and wait and see. Is it crucial to get a sale in the 7 days? If not it may pass, and you could relist it? Or you could end it now and maybe rebid? Or maybe you could open another bid anyway? and put an advert on the original auction?

***Before doing anything I would just wait and see, as I am sure ebay will answer their emails and sort it for you - don't be too hasty***

Good luck with the sale! :D

The monitor is not as described, but you're dealing with a private sale here, so there's little you can do unfortunately. A genuine seller would probably give you a goodwill gesture of £20 for the missing two inches, but I think you'd better just shrug your shoulders with this one. The perils of buying second hand goods unfortunately.

yup. hard to find a bargain these days. I offered LOTS of opportunity to the seller to give just a gesture of compensation. :(

With regards to the software - I bet you're referring to Photoshop, Illustrator etc? Consider it a bonus these were installed on your machine - if you think a seller would throw in grands worth of genuine software for nothing then you're mistaken!

Yeah, I was referring to them....one of which isn't even on! I know the seller would never send the real discs. However I have received pirate software.

Does the Mac come with the original grey install CDs? If these weren't included then you've got some right to be angry.

    Yeah it has. Luckily.

What do you mean by password as well? The password that OS X asks for when you install new software? You don't need a password to restore to 'factory default' - to do this you'd need to wipe and reinstall OS X from scratch, which you'd do with the install CD's.

Yeah, I know. The thing is though when you run the installer it asks for the password. I know you can reset the password running it from boot though ;)...unless of course the firmware password is locked - that's a whole different story. The average person wouldn't know this.

    Thanks for the reply :D

Sorry, typeractive - BRILLIANT name, by the way! I tried to find a 'new thread' button but couldn't see one. Sorry I've pinched yours. I must admit, it has been well worth it because I have had some good replies! I have actually found a form to enable me to cancel the item and relist it so I will wait until tomorrow for eBay to respond then probably cancel and relist. Will let you know if you don't mind me posting back on this thread! Have a good evening!

Thanks, Razor - will try live help. I have put this on typeractive's thread because I couldn't find a 'new thread' button but typeractive was very understanding - he/she has found some very good posters on her thread! Thanks to all for your help; will let you know what happens!

Yep, 'fraid so. It's a case of you live and learn unfortunately.

Good luck with everything, although I think the seller deserves a neutral personally!

I have a 19" CRT that is in perfect order and with all leads; it is still in it's original box (box is damaged though). The only reason i want rid of it is i have a new TFT to play with!!

Yours for £5 (i will stick £2.50 each in my kids money boxes!) if you want it. I'm in the Lincs area.

Or you can check out Freecycle and see if you can get one for free!

Hi Razor - just after I read your last post, eBay emailed me and suggested I cancel my listing and relist. Apparently, you can't move a catageory in eBay motors. Anway, I have cancelled and relisted although I was only successful in the relisting once I had come right out of eBay and signed back in! I wasn't able to cancel my original listing then go straight on to relist. I spent ages trying to relist and nearly gave up - it was getting too close to my bedtime! It would be a good idea if eBay explained that you need to come out and then sign back in! Anyway, lots and lots of thanks for your help!
