Hi there

A friend of mine is looking to sell her car, and she's had contact from Nationwidecarbuyer.com - but it's strange that there's no company details on their website.

Has anyone heard of them or dealt with them?

There's only one reason why a company would not put company details on their website.

The domain isn't even registered to a company, just a domain hoster.

As already said, there is only one reason why someone doesn't put their full identity on their website. They don't want you to be able to trace them.

Avoid.

They dont want everyone knocking on the door to get double what their
car is really worth.

Well, she used them - and they paid the money into their account and the bank have confirmed that it's arrived safely, and then they took the car.

So apparently they were a bona fide company

Is she certain that the money hasn't by now been taken back by the payee, and so leaving your friend with no money and no car?

She wouldn't be the first.

maybe you shouldn't make unfounded allegations against said company, then they wouldn't feel the need to brake a little 'rule'

and yes, you are right, there is only one reason they wouldn't supply details on their website.. because they aren't legally obliged to supply them..

I suggest you re-read my posts above. I haven't made a single accusation against the company. Any suggestion of anything is in the mind of the reader.
