I bought one with CC points last week and as it's a bit chilly tonight I thought I'd give it a go. It's been heating up for about 15 mins now and I can't see any real difference in temp.
I was hoping for it to be like someone had put a big hot water bottle in the bed, then removed it (iykwim), but it's not much warmer (if at all).
Is that what they are like, or might I have a dud?
It's this one:http://www.tesco.com/direct/silentnight-standard-electric-blanket-king/215-1876.prd?pageLevel=&skuId=215-1876
but I used a £10 off code and used vouchers, so free to me
I generally tend to switch mine on full about 20-30 mins before I go to bed. Then when I go to bed its lovely and warm and I turn it back down to 1 or off.
What have you got on top of it? I mean like a sheet, blanket sort of thing?

As I said I plan my shops to the letter before I go and have a small list of standby items, that I know compare on MSM too:D The other day when I went to this store they'd sold out of the conditioner and don't stock SP hairgel so I was keeping everything crossed and I was in luck! Would you believe it only 1 SP conditioner, 1 Tresemme Extra hold hairspray and 1 Tresemme firm hold hairspray left on the shelf
There is a little box in the boot of my car (now), it contains a "selection" of required items, and a further selection of filler items (should I be in a hurry).0 -
Thanks so much for the advice tonight, will try harder tomorrow and use my new big apg at a different store.
