Just caught an ad on the tv where you buy a magazine and get a bit of a ship's galleon each week.
135 issues at £5.99 less £4 off the first one
Total comes to £804.65 :eek::eek::eek:

Hi
The company do it all the time with these "put together" week by week builds. IMO it take a very special type of person {with lots of cash} to take on these sort of offers. Personally for that price I would not only want the model and the mag that comes with it but also an expert to come along and both assemble and paint the whole thing for me including gold leaf for the sails. Good luck I say to the people that know that after 135 weeks {or whatever the time period will be}they will still beup for finishing the project, I know I would not

What's a ship's galleon?0

I always wonder how on earth they can fill 135 magazines with articles about a single ship!
Also, what is the chances of the price going up astronomically once they get to issue 120, which people will be forced to cough up given the amount of money they would have spent already!
And if not enough people buy the magazine, what is stopping them stop publishing it, leaving people with half built expensive models.
Also saw in the Daily Mail (oh the shame) that the original full sized ship was built in much less than 135 weeks!0 -
I've mentioned this on here before, cue an influx of ship nerds banging on about how fabulous it was and that you couldn't buy a similar model for that price.
It was all quite amusing actually

isn't it a measure of liquid that for some maratime reason is different to a normal galleon, like the diffrecne between a nautical mile and a normal (statute) mile
