Pension Age v Working Age Benefits Calculator

Hi, anyone who can help with the following query please?
My OH has recently started work after having been on IB JSA for 2 years. So, we are really happy and are now trying to sort out our new finances and any eligible benefits etc. We understand that he will receive the 4 week run-on of HB (and CTB?) and also the £250 Job Grant.
Now, we thought that due to our new household income (£21320 plus an annually paid pension of £4000) we would no longer be eligible for any benefits. To check, we used the Turn to Us Calculator. Using the Working Age calculation, it shows £0 HB and CTB. It does show an entitlement to both CTC and WTC. However, when we do the calculation asking it to use Pension Age (my OH is 61 and pension age is one month away), even though the Pension Credits comes up as £0, there is a HB amount of approx £35 showing. Why does this change,
especially as it shows that he is not eligible for any Pension Credits help?
Also, we had read somewhere that when you reach 60 you stop being able to get Working Tax Credit. However, the calculations for both Working Age and Pension Age show an amount for WTC and CTC (we have a 10 year old).
If anybody can throw any light on this it would be really helpful, thanks. If more info is needed please let me know. Cheers

Hi, the amount of money upon which HB/CTB is calculated increases for someone over the pension credit qualifying age

You can get working tax credits at 60 and over as long as you're working at least 16 hours a week (and have low enough income obviously).

Many thanks for your replies, that is a lot clearer now. Cheers, Tabs0
