Britons spend £8bn a year on parking

Is it any wonder city centres are dying on their feet, with local authorities and I suppose private parking taking so much money out of the pockets of shoppers before even reaching the shops? How much then are penalty charges doing the same, together with the ppcs fake tickets are hitting the pockets of people and scaring them away from shopping?

Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Wow that's loads!
Except for Airport parking, I must spend under £20 a year on other parking as I never really use car parks unless thay are free and always look for an on street free space. So on the odd occasion I will pay 50p or £1 if I have no choice in a Council P&D space or summat.
In my area we would have had a pretty expensive and utterly unworkable Council permit scheme here by now if the vast majority of residents hadn't told the Council [STRIKE]where to go[/STRIKE] that it wasn't a very good idea, thankyou very much ta!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I also try to avoid parking etc. An example rather than pay 8 pound to park at beach driving around for ages I just catch train with kids they love it costs 5.70 for us three and dawlish line drives along the sea and stops right at the sea. Pack lunch buckets and spades cheap day outThe word about the scammers is spreading like marmite here in the westcountry.
We workers all love it and the ppc hate it :rotfl:0 -
Hi devonlad, when we were on hols in Dawlish this spring we took our aunt to an MPs surgery and another "customer" was there to see her about parking tickets. He was very active regarding parking ticket matters and put me on to Pepipoo. Wish I had got his name, Not you by any chance ?0

To councils, motorists are cash cows.
No wonder why some town-centres are like ghost-towns.0 -

Yes we love Dawlish. An aunt lives there and we manage to visit at least once a year.
After I got talking to this other Devon lad at the MPs surgery I told the aunt about PPCs. She then admitted she had paid twice in the last couple of years. Once in Plymouth and more recently at the Co-op in Dawlish.
She knows better now.
There are still so many innocent law-abiding citizens being taken in by this scam.0
