Mis sold extra insurance for car.

When we bought our car last year from Ford ( Evans Halshaw) we took out an extra insurance that covered you if you had a scratch on the car. It was with Smart insurance ??
When we bought it we were told that it covers all the car, in case of any damage for example ( and this is what they said) if someone bumps your car in a supermaket car park with a trolley its covered. As my wife works in a school we asked if this was the same, and was told yes EVERYTHING !!!! for the time we own the car
Anyway there is a scratch on the bonnet, so I ring them up to get it repaired and they say that the bonnet isn't covered, neither is the roof, the tail gate, doors, any trim or wheels. also the policy was for 12months.......
I have rung the dealer, to say we believe we have been mis sold it, each time the person I need to speak to is busy, the last time they said it states in the small print that bonnets are not covered, I said that I was told all the car was.
I clearly think we have been mis sold the policy, who can I get it touch with to take up my greivences ?

See if the policy details a complaints procedure and follow that.
  • You firstly need to complain to the company that sold it to you and get a formal response from them in writing

Thanks both will do. I dont think Ill bother with the smart insurance people, a quick check on line can tell me that ( I know I should of checked first).
Ill get in touch with the dealer again and try that route.

Why do we always blame someone else when it's our own fault for not reading the small print/terms and conditions?
