Hi DS#1 told me that his phone - a Samsung GT-E1080i - won't send texts. it can receive them and he can make and receive calls but it just won't send any texts and comes up with "error retry?" I'm not sure if he's being charged for these non sent texts either (I know how to check this)
does anyone know what could be going on here?
and more importantly how I can fix this easily...
if you can then please write 'stupid proof' instructions as I am a Nokia girl and can't get on with his Samsung at all!
It's on an orange PAYG SIM (racoon).
I will have to wait until he is back from school this afternoon before I try anything but if anyone has any help that would be great.
Alternatively I will take it to the Orange shop and see if they can fix it...
TIA

Orange have a help page to validate that the 'message centre' number is correct.
Sorry - I don't have a Samsung phone to validate that these instructions are 100% correct. But this would be the initial thing that I would check on the phone.

Essentially - the messaging centre number on the phone needs to be set to +447973100973
Hopefully it's as easy as this....as I know that for a teenager, not being able to send texts is the end of the world!0 -
Thanks for your reply Tony 5101 - Yes, he's told me this morning his 'life is over'...
I have texted him to tell him to set the message centre number to +447973100973 - hopefully this will fix it and I will be hailed as 'the best mum in the world' if only for a few minutes, as opposed to being referred to as 'that woman who makes me do my homework and denies me everything' followed by a strop upstairs a slammed door and loud music. :rotfl:
cheers
