Morning all,
Julie 67...so sorry to hear about the break in....seems that people are so tied up in their 'rights' that they forget about the rights of others...hopefully DGS will not have any after effects.
Welcome Junior, this is a nice place to be.
Halight....saw the facebook picture, they are lovely little girls, hope to-day is good for them.
Ginto...I left school 50 years ago so feel old when I see your post...loved school and hated to leave, was a gibbering wreck at uni and dropped out without a degree.
Lovely day here to-day, washing in machine almost finished and lots more to go on, hoping they will all dry.
Dinner to-day is spag bol....have made a huge amount of sauce, should be able to put 3 dinners worth in freezer, so easy days for me in near future.
Going to get new brush for Mossy in a bit, and a postbox to put on gate as postman just throws post through porch window and plants have to be searched to ensure that we have got it all!
Have a good day all

Morning all
Halight the girls looked lovely. Bet they don't come home so tidy lol.
Julie - how horrible
Welcome junior
Well I've been busy this morning. Tidied the living room, hoovered, dusted. Built a big train track for ds which has made me "worlds best mummy". I've cleaned kitchen. Dw is on its second load. Wm has been on and out drying on the line. Floors been swept and mopped and I'm still itching to do more...
Not sure what's for dinner. Either fish or spaghetti and meatballs. Two of ds's favourite things. Lunch will be soup for me and ds is having jacket potato with beans and cheese with fruit/yoghurt for after if wants. He is going through a growth spurt again I think. Sandwiches don't fill him up in the slighest. He is eating two cooked meals a day at the moment plus breakfast and snacks... Bearing in mind he is only 3, he can out eat me lol. Thankfully when he starts nursery next week, he'll get a cooked lunch and choice of hot pudding or fruit plus they have a morning snack. Still he burns it off because there isn't much to him.
Anyway enough waffle, hugs to anyone who needs/wants them."I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0 -
Hi,
Haven't read the thread for ages but making a real effort to come on MSE every day to keep myself motivated and moving in the right direction. Been lurking on the DFW a bit
I've been hanging washing out instead of using tumble drier which I'm ashamed to say I have been for most of the summer!! Sandwiches made for lunch boxes tomorrow, washing out, washing up done, scones made, swish and swiped down stairs, beds made and feet soaked in hot bubbles with a cuppa
I haven't been on freecycle for ages and ages so am going to rejoin and set it up so i get e-mails sent to my mobile ... hopefully will be able to pick up some fruit, some bits for the garden and another airer so I can hang out more washing.
I'm not putting on another wash until after 6 to save electric and am going to buy a chicken and some potatoes with the rest of this weeks shopping budget to have rubber chicken and jacket potatoes for the next few days.
Hope everyone has a fab day and hugs to all those who want/need them.

Afternoon
Popped to larger borough library to browse the cook books, want some more food ideas.
Off to vac the house. Again. No way could I have two labs, the hair they create is shocking....Luna is bad enough on her own
H is painting, when I've done my other jobs I will give him a hand.
Not sure what's for tea......discovered what I had planned involves onions and I have run out. That's tomorrows job
Right no rest for the wicked
Julie Poor DGS and Ex.....glad they are OK. Sadly this sort of thing is happening more often, especially if you own certain types of car. On road next to me many years ago they did the same to a bloke who owned a Subaru. So when my brother had one and whilst selling it stored it on my parents drive my dad bought a pick axe handle in case. Makes my blood boil when reading a judge recently suggested a repeat burglar was courageous to break into someone's house :mad: honestly what a berk
Sistercas hope fillings are pain free xxx
Halight DD was 4 in July so probably one of the youngest in the year. She's far more confident than I was at her age :T
Hugs and spoons all round xxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Hope your bag is packed Lou! You sound very chirpy today
Not much OS going on chez Floss - Dh is off this week while I;m in work, so he's doing most of it
Need to make some green bean chutney tonight, also need to wash & de-label a bag of jars from a friend that will be filled up with jam or jelly next week.0 -
Afternoon All
Welcome junior
Julie  That is awful, I hope that DGS gets over it soon, the shock might not come out for days or even weeks (((Hugs))) I still remember the shock and anger I felt when we were burgled 17 years ago when DD was 4 and DS was a baby. Sadly truth to tell, I think that this sort of thing will be more common next year when the changes to benefits kick in :mad:
Just had a phone call from the hospital as I type to say that my endoscopy is on the 17th at 10.30am. Dreading it, but I will be glad to get it over with.
Halight I hope the girls first day at school went well, bless 'em.
Went shopping in Aldi this morning and picked up a few bargains, bags of frozen corn on the cob 49p, mexican honey reduced from £1.99 to 99p sweetcorn, hamburger and onion relishes all for 29p each
Don't forget Wartime farm starts tonight at 8pm on BBC2 :j

Certainly sounds as if Lou is 'nesting':) Blooming hot here in Kent at the moment ,and I have just hoovered though downstairs. All the ironing is done though, and I had two pairs of school trousers to shorten for henry. He is 11 but needs a 12-13 in trousers but the are a smidgen too long so I just turned them up about an inch.No good his Mum doing it I don't think she owns a needle
I'm not brilliant but a can do a turn up o.k.
The window cleaner has just been, and I suppose I should do the insides but its just too blooming warm.
Only got the bathroom to do which I will do tomorrow(procrastination is my middle name)
Mikey has joined the school hockey team and also the choir and has resumed his Oboe lessons at school. Now he is the only one left at primary he seems to have come into his own and is full of things he has been up to at school.before being the smallest he seemed to get lost in the herd so to speak.Just going to have a sandwich for lunch and a five minute feet up before picking the tribe up from school mid afternoon
Hugs to those who are finding life hard at the moment
Cheers chums JackieO xxx0 -
Julie (((HUG))) Gods, there are some scumbags around!
The talk on the thread about birthdays and other celebrations reminded me to ferret out the anniversary card I have for Mr LW - our 9th anniversary is next week, but I got the card ages ago - a freebie from one of the online card sites.;):money:
We'll be going out for a meal, but rather than a "posh" dinner, we'll be having an informal meal downstairs in the Canal Bar of our favourite pub, because dogs are allowed in there, and Lucy, who arrived today, will still be here. It seemed a bit mean to leave her here for the evening when we could arrange things so that she could come with us. (It'll be cheaper, too, but shhhh - I didn't mention that, ok?):money:
I hope Halight's girls enjoyed their school experience - I have to say, I loathed school from the day I set foot there, aged 5, to the day I left, aged 16.
OS-wise - let's see - I've made the dough for pizza for tonight's dins, and the yogurt maker is currently busy "yogging".:D Also done some washing, including my green dress that has to be done on its own because it runs better than Usain Bolt!:D
Lucy is clearly moulting, so I suspect Mr Dys0n will be doing overtime over the next eight days.:rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon all
Halight - hope the girls enjoy school
Sunny here, but am trapped in work so trying not to look out the window :rotfl:. Had boring meetings this morning, and our new big boss is here now so trying to look busy! I need to do some work on my NVQ but am avoiding it hence being on MSE!
Lots to do tonight, it's my graduation for my PGCE on Sat and as we have to leave at 8am and my parents are driving I am staying at their Friday night to make it easier. I'm having my haircut after work tomorrow so will go straight to parents then. So I need to pick what I'm wearing and pack an overnight bag, find all the paperwork I need, and dig out some bits that my parents wanted to borrow from me (lawnmower etc). Plus I need to do some college work too!
OS wise - dishes to wash, HM curry for tea from freezer, packed lunch made.
Have a good day all
