Old style daily thread 06th September 2012

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 6th September. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

    Morning all:j:j

Chilly here this morning, But looks like it will be a nice day later.

Well todays the big day that the twins go off to big school.:j:j
I'm pleased that the pre-school that we sent them too has done such a good job with them and given them a good start to there school life. It must be a really big thing for the little ones that never went anywhere until there fist day of school.
The Girls will be some of the youngest In there year. Some of the Kids have already turned 5 our were only 4 In June. And not too forget there were born ten weeks early! So they would not even be 4 If they had gone full team, We did have the optional of keeping them off school Until January and starting then. But we do feel that they are ready for full-time school.
Only half a day for them today. And they don't have to go again untill Monday. So It will ease them in.

We might go over the park this afternoon with the girls. Or do some black berry picking with them. My Mum and Dad took them black berry picking On Tuesday, They have a static carven Out In the country side about 20min drive form were we Live. For anyone local too me its In Bewdley,
Anyway they love going down there are the Van is about a mile out of there right In the country side, They did there black berry picking there with my Mum. And they have asked if we could do some one day local too Us.

My wife cooked a lovely meat loaf last night:T:T
Not sure what we will be having for dinner tonight.

We I hope that everyone has a good day.

    Enjoy yourself everyone:j:j

    Morning All,

DD starts High School today. Would love to go with her but today's the day the children return to school here. So DW is taking her on the bus.

Been in work since just before 7, all looking good. Teachers have started to arrive too.
I am back to split shifts so will get out in the garden during my break as i have neglected the lawn over the holidays.

    Take care all.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow.. :p

  • morning Halight and everybody

Hope the litllies have a good first day at school. Fifty ahem years ago I stsrted school and had never left my mum before......all my school years were traumatic after that. Dad had to come home at lunchtimes to take me back to school for a long time.. Most mornings I was sick on the way to school out of fear. Mum held my head over the gutter and then we kept walking....So glad that there are pre schools now.

Nice here again this morning. I am having a cuppa in bed and some quality time with the lappie. The food bank was busy yesterday and I am tired today.

Nothing planned today as yet. Sausages for tea....

Have a good day all and hugs and kind words to all who need them.

    Morning everyone

Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Blue sky with light cloud, real nip in the air though, forecast says sunshine all day, DH up and off to work stupid early. Washing out on the line.

Dinner last night was a naughty takeaway - was our wedding anniversary and DH decided that I shouldn't cook, actually he asked what I was going to cook, then decided he wanted takeaway!? - he said he thought I would do something special etc because it was our anniversary to which I replied, why should I bother when you don't? In the past I've always done special things for birthdays, xmas, anniversaries etc and it's either not been the right thing or he's said "you shouldn't buy/do anything because you make me feel guilty because I haven't bought/done anything for you" but it never made him feel that guilty because it didn't change his actions! I've got fed up with putting 110% effort in and not being met anywhere near half way in all areas not just special occasions! Think at last he's beginning to realise that he doesn't treat me fairly, and now if he see's the warning signs I'm not happy he tends to be much more careful about what he says/does! Sorry that turned into a bit of a rant! (I do feel deeply hurt that he just doesn't seem to care/be bothered as I've always worked incredibly hard at my marriage, always supported him with his endeavours, and always done the lion's share of the household work/admin etc and always worked at least part time even when the children were small - out of necessity, not greed to be able to have my own money, which I've never had - he never wanted to do extras to make any extra money etc, he does work extras now though, there's been times where I've had 3 part time jobs at once - but I did get to the point where I realised I just couldn't do it anymore and stopped one of them).:o:o:o

Dinner tonight will be the pork chops we didn't have last night, with mash, veg and LO cauli/brocc cheese and gravy.

The man from the garage door company is coming to assess the damaged door first thing this morning, then I have a hairdressers appointment at 9.30am - then it will be back home to get stuck in to the long list of jobs as the house looks a bit of a pit at the moment! Hoping getting the house in to some sort of order will help with my mood although had an relaxed afternoon yesterday as was first day in ages I'd been child free and it was just nice to be on my own for a bit. Want to get all the cleaning, washing, drying, ironing etc done today if possible, then will cook/bake etc tomorrow after I've been food shopping and done the chores in town. If I get everything done I want I may then be able to go to the next town on Saturday (DH working and boys off out for the day with my bro) to see if I can purchase a dress/something to wear for a wedding the following week - we're only going to the night time do but it's at a hotel and I could do with another dress as don't have much in that line as since losing weight I've got rid of all the big stuff and not replaced it!

Will be going over to mum's later once boys are home as it's her birthday today and we want to take her pressie and card. Can prep food for dinner before we go so all I've have to do is cook it when we get back.:):):)

Have a good day, stay safe and well x
