advice on off the floor toilet installations: brick wall or plasterboard

Would like an off the floor toilet in new bathroom.
One of the walls is the main front external wall which is brick.
My preferred wall for toilet installation is an adjacent wall which is plasterboard however, it would be acceptable to have this toilet installed into the brick wall.
Just how robust is the installation into a plasterboard wall? I know it can be done but is it as good as a brick wall for holding the weight of the toilet and user?
Cheers

You need one of these:
or something very similar whatever you fit it to. You'll be able to buy one that specifically goes with your wall hung loo.

Was in a house were one very similar to above (on plaster board and wooden 2x4s) was fitted by plumber, not sure if he made a mistake (he's a good plumber usually though.) I remember chippy ripping wall apart to strengthen metal frame using timber, it was a lot less wobbly than before but still moved. Wasn't involved other than asked advice but it did seem the supplied (not cheap!) frame was prone to movement (as is much timber when you clamp a 20k bowl onto it and sit on it!)
Brick wall sounds a much better option if you use good fixings.0 -
it all depends on where your soil pipe is and the amount of fall you will have to it, unless not already fitted
brick wall better option as with the plasterboard you may need to remove the plasterboard and add extra timber supports- unless its dot dab or strawboard0 -
If you place it on the plaster-boarded wall you cut the plasterboard away fit the Gerberit frame inside the wall strengthening with wood if needed and then have plywood in place of the plasterboard and tile.

Can you install that on a brick wall without - a - building out from the wall or - b - mounting it on a vanity unit/cupboard?0
