    Looks aren't everything ;)

    The resolution is 1280 x 1024, the Hanns G is 1440 x 900.

    The responce time of the Hanns G is a super 5ms, this isn't mentioned on the Misco one, maybe because it's 8+ :confused:

    Hanns G to my knowledge don't make unbranded screens.

    1280 x 1024 gives a larger viewable screen size.

    You actually believe the quoted response times??.. :rolleyes:

    As I said, who makes what? .. can you prove that HannsG don't make stuff for others?

    hi, i have ordered the Hanns G. i have a ATI 9600 graphics card which has a "DVI-I" socket.

    do i simply need a DVI-D to DVI-D cable?

    does single/dual link make much difference?

    i will be using this as a 2nd monitor on my PC setup :)

    i need to get a lead sorted as i just had confirmation the monitor is dispatched :)

    thanks.

    OP thanked. :beer:

    Larger viewing area it may have, there's still the other bits I mentioned :rolleyes:

    I have a Hanns G so I can vouch for the responce time, are you saying all these companies are falsely advertising their goods then or do you know something the manufacturers don't?

    No I can't prove Hanns G don't make for others, I said I beleive they don't so there is an element of doubt, not that I'm bothered either way. The monitor you posted isn't all that, I pointed out some flaws, get over it!

    Dont touch acer they have rubbish customer support, spend abit more & get a good brand monitor as this is what you will spend hours viewing.

    I just have to disagree with this comment. I bought an acer digital camera and two months before the 2 year warranty ran out it developed a fault. I contacted acer, who arranged for it to be collected (for free),3 days later I received a brand new replacement. 10/10 from me. :T

    OCTIGEN :confused:

    No specs on it either.
  • Specs here;

    Good price too - these widescreen 19" panels have really come down in price lately. I'd love one, but I'm paranoid I'd end up getting one with either so many dead pixels it would need swapping out or just one slap bang in the middle that I'd have to keep.

    Any links to cheap panels with a zero dead pixel policy would be gratefully received!

    :)
  • Can you get a freeview box with DVi output as I wonder about using this as a tv?

    I've looked into this quite a bit as I had the same idea, and I haven't found a conventional Freeview box with a VGA output, but I did find an adaptor on the web;

    Gadmei TFT to TV adaptor

    This digital tuner has it's own built-in speaker and remote, and can be found on Ebay for around the £30 mark. I haven't got one so I can't tell you how it performs.

    :)

    EDIT: Note the Octigen 19" panel is only VGA, not DVI too.

    I think other posters have demonstrated that there are some great buys around, but IMO you do get what you pay for, to some extent.

    THe reason I posted the original offer is because it is a really high spec TFT monitor by a reputable manufacturer (that has received many awards from Computer review magazines etc) being sold by a retailer that has a reputation for very good customer service at a great price.

    Dont confuse cheapness with value for money-they are not the same thing!
