Pictures Within Listing

Hope a computer whizz kid can help please!!

Trying to list some ELC Happyland items and wanted to use my personal photo for the main listing picture but also a catalogue one from elc site within the listing to show set completed.

How do I transfer the picture from their site onto my listing page please??

There are a number of ways of doing it. First you need permission to use it.

Always use your own pictures. A few selelrs have come unstuck using someone elses pictures or links.

They can change them for naughty ones or ones that say your a scammer.

Or they can report you for copyright theft and may get your account closed.

  • Thanks for that. Always do, just wanted to show what the set looked like when made up, but if people are looking to buy the particular set I'm listing then I guess they'll know what it looks like anyway!!

Will stay well clear of copying photos!!
  • Can you use links in ebay listings? I have seen them loads of times but not actually sure if it's against the rules and people just do it anyway.
If it's allowed, perhaps you can just pop a link in to say "here's where I bought it" and potential buyers will click and look anyway.

  • Yes be careful using stock photos. When I first started ebaying I did not realise that this was wrong as all the other sellers seemed to be using them but I got a letter from a company threatening to sue me unless i removed their photos from my listings... Never again!
  • Is photobucket a good site to list pics, or are there better alternatives?
  • Glad I asked the question now!! Yes I've used a link before when I sold my buggy board to the Lascal website which was the comparison guide, I'm guessing this was ok.

Seems to be a lot of listings where people manage to get their own photos within the actual text without having to pay the 12p per photo but god knows how they do it!!

Any free picture hosting website. Upload your own pictures and use the links provided to embed the pictures into the listing.

As long as any links are not pointing to a sales page where you offer the items outside ebay you should be OK.

I have my own domain so can host my own pictures easily. About £40 a year.

But i host websites for friends and family etc on it also.
