I called DLA 2 weeks ago to request a 'Statement of Reasons' of why my claim was turned down by the Tribunal.
Today i recieved a letter informing me i was out of time. Tribunal was at the beginning of July, and that i had 1 month from that date to request the SOR.
According to the letter they would have to ask the district judge to prepare a statement if i could give them 'a good reason' why my request is late..
I guess because i am a complete wally and obviously don't read things properly, and it wasnt' until i read about SOR on MSW that i could request this, isnt' a good enough reason.

Can't understand why there is'nt automatically a copy put onto my records.
Oh well. They have sent me another claim form and this time i will make sure i read every dot.

oops did'nt realise the word in the title would be seen as a naughty word.

The statement of reasons is not written at the time.
It is prepared only on request.

And no, not knowing about it is not a good enough reaon.

If you called the DWP, then you were speaking to the wrong people. you need to contact the Tribunal Service for Tribunal SoR.

Just a thought but did you contact the DLA department within one month of the tribunal decision?

If yes, then I think you potentially have grounds for a late request to the Tribunal Service because when you called the DLA dept the adviser should have told you there and then that you had to make this request to the tribunal service not made you wait until they wrote to you.

If you do make a late request the tribunal has to consider whether it is fair and just to allow your request taking into account all the reasons.

If no, then sadly it is back to a new claim for DLA :(
