Lloyds - Blocked Debit Card

Hello,

In the last two days, I have had my bank card blocked twice. I understand this is mainly to do with fraud measures, and admittedly I have made a few large transactions on my account, but when they can't unblock it again it's VERY frustrating..

Yesterday it got blocked for the first time, after I made a couple of payments and also settled a remaining £2000 from my loan using it. OK, so when I got home, I had the automated lady calling me and telling me they had blocked it, so followed the instructions and done. At the end of this call, it had the message "If you would prefer this service to call your mobile in future, please dial the number now". I did this, because this is much more useful for me than them phoning my house.

This morning, I made a couple of purchases online, nothing big, then I visited the dentist which cost me £180. This all seemed to go through OK. On my lunch break, I went to town and tried to spend £20 in Boots - card declined. Tried a cash machine - declined.

So this is the bit that frustrated me. I called the number on the back of the card, which actually says: "Call this number if your transaction is declined...". Once through to them, I was told I was through to the wrong department so they transfered me elsewhere - this put me through to an automated service which wouldn't accept my details. I tried calling again, explained that I was put through to the wrong department, they apologised and said they'd put me through to the correct department. This time, I was passed around to SIX different people. The last one I got through to was Phonebank, who told me my account DOESN'T EXIST!! I told her it definitely does exist..

Anyway, I told the lady exactly what I thought of their customer service and that I'd be banking elsewhere in future as this isn't the first time this has happened..

By the way, I never did get this unblocked - does anybody have a phone number of the correct department for blocked Visa Debit cards as the one on the back of my card is not right? Am I best going into my branch?

Apologies for the rant :rotfl:
