I ordered my son's school shoes online via clarks as the local stockists dont keep his size in stock.
They arrived and he doesnt like them, to be honest neither do I, but they were the only ones I could get in his size online at the time, the ones I really wanted were sold out.
I had a pair that I bought 2nd hand off ebay just in case, and he loves them, and they're perfect condition etc, the ones we actually wanted in the beginning.
I paid via paypal and am looking at returning the shoes to exchange for the ones that we originally wanted in a size up ready for a growth spurt which im sure is coming. Only I cant quite make out the refunds policy from what ive read online.
Its says to take them back to any store with the delivery note and returns slip filled in and in unworn condition-they were out of the box for 2 mins, he tried one on and didnt like it.
Would they do a straight exchange for the ones I actually wanted if they have them in stock, or if they refund, can they refund via paypal???? thats the part thats confusing me lol, how they'll refund since I paid with paypal.
Thanks for any replies xx

It is likely they will put a refund request through to their accounts department who will then initiate the refund via PayPal - reason for this is they will have the transaction fee refunded.0

thanks for the reply, fingers crossed they have the shoes I want in size and in in stock for an exchange rather than a refund, it all sounds long winded paypal refund wise, wish id paid using my card now lol or just made the trek to the larger store, but after the hassle I had getting the kids feet measured (wrongly!!) and then not being able to get the shoes in store at the time I didnt fancy a trip to the larger store in a city where there would be queues a mile long in the run up to school lol. Now im gonna have to make the trip anyways!! x0

paypal refunds can be very quick, normally when I return something to a store I get the refund shortly after I get the email from the store, meaning it's processed very quickly, even faster than with cards
however on ebay, if a seller doesn't have enough money on their account ebay may issue an e-cheque for the refund (happened to me once), and it will take about a week to clear.
I've never returned something in store after paying via Paypal, but I expect they will return the money back to Paypal
But you don't have to return them in store, they have free returns by post, I found it takes about a week to get the money back from the day I post the return (not with Clarks, in general).
If the store don't have the shoes in store they can order them from the website and get them delivered to you (not sure if they'd do it as an exchange)0 -

Clarks offer a Collect From Store service, where you can order up to 6 items (with a max of 2 pairs per style) to be delivered to the store. They inform you when they have been delivered to the store (within 5 working days) and you then have 9 days to go to the store to try them on. You pay once you have decided which shoes to keep and you get the website prices.

I got a pair of urban walking trainers for half price as I wasn't sure what size to order and they were full price in store, so ordered them to be delivered to store.
If you have a smaller store you might want to check that they offer the service instead of trailing to the larger store.0
