I struggled with sim cards last time, they didn't go even for £1 each.
Any clothing branded sells well if its fairly good condition, don't let people haggle you down to nothing. Have a little room in your prices for negotiation. Keep shuffling things around the table, makes it look busier.lol.
Offer a slighter cheaper price if they more than one thing. Take change and carrier bags.0 -
Have just returned from doing a car boot with my daughter. She sold mostly toys and baby clothes all good condition but people were only willing to pay pence for them as there are so many people selling that type of thing ,in our area anyway.I took a few odd items, really just to bulk the stall out things like curtains, ornaments etc and ended up getting twice as much as my daughter. I think it really depends whos there buying on the day and more importantly whos selling, the more selling the same as you obviously lowers the prices. My advice would be give anything a try and try and make your stall look atractive maybe cover the table, hang all the clothes.( on airers if you havent a rail)Away with the fairies.... Back soon0

Well my sister and I did a car boot yesterday which was the first one of the season near us and we both made about £20 each. It was pants actually. I had some working hair tongs and I told this lady I wanted £3 for them. She said no £1 and I said no £2 and she STILL tried to haggle! No way was I letting them go for £1!! Some people just want something for nothing....literally. We enjoy doing the boot sales but yesterday's weather...although was sunny it was te bitter cold wind that made it awful!! We'll still be going next week though!!

Good quality ornaments usually sell well in my area. Baby items are a bit hit-and-miss, since as you mentioned, there are often several stalls selling similar things so you have to be very competitive with pricing to shift them.Have just returned from doing a car boot with my daughter. I did a car boot sale today and sold mostly bric-a-brac, and a few 20p paperback books among other things. The customers were haggling hard, but I'd included a bit of haggling room in my prices so I was getting reasonably close to the prices I wanted. My son and I took about £40 between us, which isn't too bad considering we had no car, which seriously limits the amount of stuff we could take.
I think the key is variety - if you have something on your stall to attract almost every customer then you're likely to make a good number of sales.
I had a 20p box, a 50p box and a £1 box, with other stuff set out individually. A big Any Item This Box 20p sign tends to attract customers.
I don't use a tablecloth because of the risk of accidents: a toddler grabbing the cloth could send several items crashing to the ground.0
