Small cars
Options
Who can suggest sub £1000, old, small cars.
Obvious ones I can think of are
classic mini,
Fiat 126
Fiat cinquecento
Fiat seicento
All come out good to insure
Another one learning to drive, and I need yet another small runaround.
Anything big, or newer doubles the insurance.
(Peugeot 106, Citroen C3, Austin Maestro)
So small, small engine, old.

Depending on what you do for a living, you might find it cheaper to insure a mall van than a car. My little corsavan takes a bit of beating for an economobile.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?

I would plug the Mark 2 Nissan Micra. Amazingly reliable, not too cramped and very cheap to run and insure.Je suis sabot...0

Fiesta, cheap to run and small engine version should be cheaper to insure.
Many older cars were prone to extensive corrosion especially British Leyland and Fiat.0 -
Ahh corrosion, Anyone remember the fiat panda's with the plastic trim at the bottom of the doors?
Not sure if this was added later or fitted from the factory. But when i took it off. There was a lack of non rusty metal behind it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Suzuki Alto/swift (old models). Most likely to have been bought new as a pensioner, engine barely run in. May need a clutch. Rust shouldn't be an issue.
Also hyundai atoz/amica...
You'd probably get a more modern one compared to some rusty Fiat, with exciting features like a steering wheel, see through windscreen and some seats.0
