I just said that in my post, methinks,he,s been on the drugs;
NW , if nothing, are, efficient at paperwork;;;;too much so.I,ve been with them 35 years.
I wouldn,t like a bank a/c that I had NOT signed for;
I just went into my Nationwide Online Banking (for my savings account with them) and my new Cash+ Account is showing in there! I was even able to add a payee to it (for transfering cash to another account elsewhere).0 -
Daughters credit rating is crap, as I have just bailed her out.BrandNewYear wrote: »my Dad has now applied to Nationwide. He has OK but not great credit. They have told him that he has been accepted for a "Flex Account - Cash Card only." They said he will not be able to have any direct debits or outgoing electronic payments on his account. Has anyone heard of such an account at Nationwide? It's clearly not the Cashcard+ as that one allows Direct Debits etc
She applied for flexi, got it, they asked her if she wanted an overdraft.
She said NO, so they gave her cashcard+
I told her to ring them, I was by the phone, because, you have to have a visa debit card, to qualify for thier free insurance(reason for application), they said a visa card would arrive, and insurance approx 2 months after a/c transfer from coop bank.
I was surprised she got an a/c with her credit rating, her direct debits are being taken out too.
NW, will not accept a bank statement as proof of ID, if it is one of thier own;
She gave coop, and electric bill.
her first time with them.0 -
Brandnewyear why are you getting a basic account with nationwide when you say you have a perfectly fine account with a 5k overdraft with Halifax.0

A bank statement and utility bill is enough by post. No need to visit the branch..That paperwork comes with the form to sign.How to prove id by post or branch.BrandNewYear wrote: »My Dad's called back and it turns out they've accepted him for the Cashcard+ as well and he CAN have Direct Debits etc. In his case though he's got to sign some kind of terms and conditions that are arriving in the post and he's got to take his passport and utility bill into a branch. They also told him that after running the account for a certain amount of time he may be able to upgrade to a full Flex0 -

I want back-up account(s). When I opened the Halifax account my credit score was better than it is now. I'll continue to use Halifax as my main banking facility, I didn't like the fact that until now it has been my ONLY banking facility. If Nationwide ugprade me to full Flex with overdraft then I may well switch my banking to them0 -
Your C/r could not be any worse than my daughters, yet they offered her a overdraft.she declined.hence card+. You you confuse me at leastBrandNewYear wrote: »I want back-up account(s). NW don,t always deliver what they promise, so till when my daughter gets her Visa/ and travel insurance, I will hold my breath, but the a/cs will have been changed then.
PS you don,t help C/r rating by applying for several ac, s, it makes it worse.0
