Atlantic Electric & Gas Query!!!
Options
This is Just a Query I Suppose???
Yesterday I recieved a Cheque out of the blue from Atlantic Electric & Gas:j For £34.46, I thought theres, something strange going on here. Anyway I didn't take it to the Bank, Ithought I'd check my bills when I got home from work.
So this morning I Checked my bills,
I left my previous property on or aroun 1st of November havingjust changed Gas Supliers from British Gas to Atlantic Electric & Gas, So the only bill I recieved from Atlantic Electric & Gas, was for a total of £40.86, they had made a mistake with my meter readingfrom the startso I informed them and they removed
Gas Adj to A/C Standard Rate £24.86
VAT at 5.00% on Credit of £24.68 £ 1.23
Balance from previous Bill £40.86
Payment now Due £15.95
Which I quite hapilly paid, on the 20th of November 2006.:rotfl:
So after only paying them ever £15.95, why are they the Customer Centre, sending me a cheque for £34.95. There is no letter enclosed explaining this, just a note at the top stating:
The attached cheque is in settlementof the accounts detailed below.
No acknowledgement is required.
So my question is Do I cash the cheque or do I query it???

Personally I would cash it and keep the money to one side in case they ever ask for it back, but morally you should probably call up and check with them.0

Well, I received a letter explaining all, which I can't understand, so I did bank it and put it to one side in a high interest account.
Thanks for the advice...:D:rotfl: Smile Your Saving:rotfl:0
