Warm home heating allowance

Hi everyone just some information that may help you, I was granted the warm home allowance of £130 last year and this runs until 2015. I was told I wouldn't have to re-apply but I have just changed my electricity supplier, I have now gone with EDF I was with EON Staywarm, because I didn't changeover before the 21st of July although I am still entitled to the allowance it will be EON who will have to send me the cheque. So I have had to get in touch with EON and on the 17th of September I will have to get in touch with the Work and Pensions to make sure EON has claimed for me. So it has made it slightly more complicated, next year I will have the allowance paid by EDF. If you are not getting it there is a link below to see if you are entitled to it.

I hope you do receive this payment from EON. It would appear that British Gas who switch would not.
Who is eligible?Broader groupis open to existing customers who must continue to be in supply of their electricity with British Gas when the payments are made in Winter 2012/13

I am with EDF and they paid it onto my account in March of last year It seems to be paid in the spring which is very useful as its a good lump sum to keep your account in the black. At the moment my EDF account for combined gas and electric is £233 in the black a good bit salted away in case we get a real cold snap in January
