How come Lloyds TSB hold on to my money when I pay on line?

I have set up a direct debit from my Lloyds current account to pay my credit card.
Mine is set up for the full payment but it can be for the minimum payment. I have never had a problem with this method.Not Rachmaninov

I manually pay of my LTSB credit card every month from my LTSB current account . The funds debit my current account within an hour or so, then usually by the evening or following morning it has cleared on my credit card.
