DLA appeal v PIP

AGAIN i have to appeal against a DLA decision, the last tribunal told me "it is obvious that you need more help now than you did in 2010" so I sent off new forms, told no, reconsideration, told no, appeal, have to wait for around 18 months for the appeal to give me a date.
What happens next year PIP comes in but i still haven't had my appeal?
Is it worth it. The DLA unit have so much evidence from GP, consultants and my carer (unpaid) I even suggested that they send a doctor out, no just appeal.
I am banging my head against a brick wall.

  • Ouch.. 18 months is a long time... you sure it'll be that long? I'd try to put PIP out of your mind.. remember you're appealling the DLA decision of date x.... if you win appeal then you'll get award from date x... and it could be years before you would be transferred to PIP. I suppose if PIP is implemented and you haven't yet had appeal then it may be worth you thinking about whether applying for PIP in addition at that junction is sensible.. probably would depend upon what award you would expect regarding PIP.

So my advice would be focus on this appeal... certainly at least until PIP is implemented.
