i currently have my balance on Halifax card which the 0% is due to expire at the end of this year, ive just had an offer from Barclaycard (who i have a empty card with) for 16 months 0%..
the kicker is i recently got rejected for a loan with my bank and am worried it'll effect me getting a 0% card when the halifax one runs out, so should i swap now? should i wait and see what offers barclaycard has when i need to swap or just wait and see what happens?
any advice?

If i was you i would switch just before the barclaycard offer expires.
I have never heard of such a long 0% for existing customers, longest i had was 13 months. Existing customer offers are usually between 6-12 months.
If you switch just before the offer expires you can maximise the current halifax 0% and you wont have to apply for another card and risk not getting it.0 -
I was about to ask the same as the OP. I received a Barclaycard 'offer', I believe I still have to apply etc.
I have never had an account with Barclays or Barclay card and quite frankly don't know how they got my details, but I got an application form for a 1.9% fee balance transfer for 18 months 0% through.
Tempted to transfer but currently not paying interest on my current card so not sure it would be beneficial!0 -
Work out how much you can afford to pay off the Barclaycard by the end of the year and set up a monthly payment amount to pay this off. Move the balance onto the Halifax 0% a week or so before the offer expires e.g. £5k on Barclaycard can pay £1k - set up payment for £250 per month (Sept to Dec).
Halifax expires end Sept - move £4k to Halifax on 23 Sept. That way you save on the BT fee.0
