Not recieving full package - rights

I'm writing this in behalf of my DH.

He ordered 2 graphic novels over the internet straight from the suppliers web site (ie not through ebay etc) and paid via paypal. However, when the package came there was only one graphic novel in there. He gave it a few days in case they were sent separately and still had not received the second novel. So he emailed the company to say he had not received it. He has had no response. He emailed them again to ask what the situation was and still has had no response. So where does he go from here? Can he raise a dispute through paypal or is there another route he should take.

Thanks

Maybe a bit early for a paypal dispute.
    Could be a simple mistake.

Perhaps he could ring them or write a letter... a real letter.

    Who was the seller?
  • Just be careful you do not time out on a paypal claim. I think it is 45 days so make a note in the diary.

If you do write a letter send it recorded delivery so you have proof that it arrived.

Yes you can raise an INR through paypal, just as you would on ebay. This happened to me one Christmas, ordered a couple of games for DS xmas, only one arrived, no contact from website. After 2 weeks I raised an INR case and was refunded for the other game.

  • He's just checked and he ordered it on the 15th August. Received one graphic novel on the 17th waited till the 22nd August and got in touch. Didn't hear anything so got in touch again on 29th August and still hasn't heard anything. They've just not responded. If they had said something or if he hadn't received the one book he would wait, but why would he receive one and not the other.

I think he's going to give it another week so its been 28 days and try to claim it back off paypal. Is this the right thing for him to do?

I would start the ball rolling with an INR now. After all, they've had over a fortnight without a message. You can always cancel it if they item pops up. I'm saying this just because there's been no contact from the sender. If they had been nice and answered messages I may be a bit more forgiving, but as it is, I would INR now.

  • Do a search online and see if others are having the same problem.
Normally all you need to do is type the company name and review into your search engine.
