Problem with handbrake light.
Options
Have just found a slight (hopefully) problem with the handbrake light on the dashboard on my Chev. Matiz.
The handbrake is fine and I dont have to pull it up any further than usual , its just that when I pull the handbrake down the light flickers and stays on.If you move it very slightly you can make the light go off.
I just wondered if it was a problem with a loose connection or if the handbrake needs adjusting ?
Thanks very much :money:

I doubt if it is a loose wiring connection or that the handbrake needs adjusting. It sounds like the switch mounting needs adjusting or simply tightening up. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

As above, it sounds like the switch is sticking, a squirt with wd40 will free it up. Look at the base of the handbrake and you should see the switch there.0

If physically moving the lever puts it out it sounds like a faulty switch. Just check your handbook though to make sure its not doubling up as a low fluid light or whatever.0
