Student Loans Company interest

Can someone help clarify something here, Student loans company interest, just been looking out all my sheets on this as i want to know when to expect the next payment. Found the statements for 1st year and 2nd year aswell and i'm slightly confused. First year, the statement shows the interest being charged once a month, second year shows the interest being charged twice a month. eg.
31/08/2006 Interest £5.68
31/08/2006 Interest £5.27

Is this how things should be or am i being chagred double(almost) what i should be? Also when i total up the interest it seems that the suggestion made before i started uni that taking hte loan is advantageous even if you wont use it as the interest earned with an ISA will dwarf what you are charged.

i think you will find that the first figure relates to the first years loan and the second to the second years loan.. the amount being different because the loan amount are accrued interest are different.

thanks, i did have a feeling it would be somehting like that, based on the fact that both figures were slightly different and the second was lower.
