Buying repossed car is it safe ?
Options
I have seen a repossed car in a garage for sale,
Im wondering what pitfalls there could be, its from a garage and will have 3 month warranty, it looks in mint condition, dosent have service history but the miles are relatively low, and the garage has serviced and changed cambelt and HPI clear
Thanks folks

Cars are normally snatched back because the bills aren’t paid. This being the case then the servicing almost certainly been done either
What sort of age? Miles?0 -
I Agree with VIAO,that it may indicate a lack of servicing. On the other hand i know a lot of people with loads of money that still scrimp on servicing,so who knows. The owner may have lost his job and that's why it was taken back by the HP people.
How long did he own it,how many miles did he do?Try to find out before you decide what to do.There are two sides to every story.

wouldn't say 80,000 miles is low at all. Working on an average of 12,000 miles a year it's fairly high mileage. Sounds more like an ex rep / company car that was sold on again and then repossessed. Or an ex company car that's being sold as a repossession instead of an ex company car.
If they couldn't afford to pay for it they managed to pay for a shed load of deisel.0 -
a diesel with 80K and no servicing will be sha**ed.
Unless you can establish if it has had anything done then I would walk away unless it is really cheap. You could try and see who the previous owner was and find out what if anything was done. If the plates have the name of a lease company of garage on it may be worth ringing them. Some lease cos are really good and will provide you with a print out of its history in their ownership - often better than a normal service history.0 -
Thanks folks, it just seems a cheap deal compared to other garages round here0

Your friendly local ford dealer might be able to tell you about service history is you give them the reg number0

I'd be a little worried that the person from whom it was repoed might have kept a key and come and nick it back.0
