Creation Finance Overzealous Maybe?

in Credit cards
I recently switched banks and have ended up with a late payment mark on my experian & equifax files.
What I did was a genuine mistake.. I checked through my old bank account and noted that all my direct debits had been paid, Creation being the last. Having noted the DB had gone out that day I cancelled it.
A week or so later I received a letter from Creation stating I had missed a payment and that i needed to contact them.. Scratching my head I checked my old Bank online and sure enough the DB hadn't been processed.. What I quickly discovered was that if you cancel a DB on the day the money leaves, even if shows the payment has left your account, the cancelation retracts the payment.
I explained the situation to Creation and they took payment from my debit card over the phone.
I have just received a credit alert from both credit reports stating I nave a missed payment.. My credit score has just bounced into trash on both!
Any advice? Can they remove this? Is there a goodwill gesture?

you could call and ask (nicely) byt no, there is no automatic right to have it removed... as it is a true reflection of your account. If you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...:think:0

Most lenders have automated systems that process payments and make reports to the credit reference agencies. If you write to them and explain the circumstances, enclosing a copy of whatever you received that says they have made an entry in credit record, and ask them to remove it - or alternatively, you are entitled to put a note on your own file to explain an entry.
It's also important to understand that you do not have a credit score as such. What you have is a credit record. Prospective lenders will look at your record and apply their own judgement as to whether you are creditworthy or not based on the entries within it.
Hope that helps.0
