Staying in overdraft

  • I have done this exact thing,

Had Halifax & Co-op student accounts and used faster payments system through online banking to satisfy the paying in requirements, now I'm due to go into my second year and both banks have increased my overdrafts without any complaints (Halifax even gave me a student credit card).

In prep for my second year I've also got myself an Aqua 3% cashback credit card for my shopping (pay in full via DD), in addition I am using a First Direct 8.0% saver to stooze all my unused overdraft funds.

If the banks get unhappy and ask for their overdrafts back then they can have them, I'll only lose my interest, but for the savings I am only paying in £300pm so the od will only decrease at a gradual rate and thus doesn't provoke panic from the bank.
