I've never had a paint pod. However, I have used rollers and wouldn't recommend them as they're messy. I do the walls and ceilings with paint pads now, which are cheap, fast and give a nice finish. You'll still need a brush for the edges, but the rest of the walls go very fast.
  • I wouldn't waste your time with a paint pod, total waste of money! Just make sure you don't over load your roller, do several coats, one vertical, one horizontal.

If you want a PERFECT finish look into hiring an industrial (not a home one, they suck) paint sprayer. If the house is empty and you're going for the same colour throughout, they give a perfect finish, and clean up easy. The time consuming bit is covering up all the windows and plugs etc, however, you can blast through a house in a weekend.

Personally I would just go for the old roller method though, works for me!

Also, I couldn't ever bear the thought of paying a handyman to paint, once you get going you'll realise just how easy it is. It'll eat up your money to pay someone.

if paint pods werethat brilliant , all painters would have them ,i've not got one and none of any other painters i've met got one , don't waste your money
My ex-employer used to buy all of these gadgets, there have been several systems like this over the years and they all fell by the wayside. Too much time wasted cleaning and filling and all the time your paint was thickening or drying out and blocking the roller.

Yes, paint pads are very good with water based paints. Foam mini rollers make gloss painting effortless too, once you've got the knack of not overloading or skimping on paint.
