help re Endeavour personal Finance (HSBC)

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, or should be attached to another thread. Find this all rather bewildering tbh!
I had a 50k loan along with my ex back in 2006. We repaid the loan fully in November 2006 to Endeavour Personal Finance. I believe they are part of HSBC?
Neither of us have any documents pertaining to this loan and have no account number, referrence numbers etc. we got rid of it all on repayment and our subsequent seperation. My ex says they cant go back online far enough with what was our joint bank account to get any details either.
I wrote to them at HSBC, giving addresses, post codes, approximate dates etc but they say they need more info than I can provide them with to investigate any further.
I have tried phoning but they refused to discuss anything because i had no account numbers etc.
So, if I can't provide any further info is that it? Or is there a way in which I can request them to "dig up" the info??
I know this all rather vague, certainly compared to much of the extremely techincal stuuf that others are discussing on here, but any advice would be really appreciated.
Is it a case of me having to use a company to proceed in trying to get the info??
Thanks to anyone who can offer some advice.
cheers

This is very similar to mine. There are other threads about this on here. I sent a SAR reuest with some id and £10 to HSBC (who took over endeavour). I received a pack of info on my loan with everything thing about it. It does say that I need to go back to the broker (Ocean Finance) to claim PPI as they sold it to me, even though Endeavour took the money. I settled this loan quite quickly and they took the whole PPI back. My loan was £60k so the PPI was very high. I am now just going to send a form to Ocean Finance to see if they will reply but at least I now have a copy of all the signed docs and account numbers. Good luck0

How did you get on with HSBC? I'm still trying to get my PPI back from them, also a very high PPI...0

I am desperately trying to find a current address for Endeavour Personal Finance.
I have heard that it is really difficult to claim so would anyone suggest a reputable claims company to use.
I have successfully claimed through Egg - have received an offer and sent acceptance form back. They have said I will receive a cheque within 20 days - how likely do you think this is?
Thanks in advance for any help.0 -
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Anyone had any luck with Ocean or Endeavour? I am told Endeavour blame Ocean but Ocean say the compna name changed a few years ago so I cannot claim.
Anyone else had any luck with Ocean Finance. Not sure whereelse to go with this now.
I have 6 other claims and not one of them has come out positive and so tempted to go to a ppi claims compnay as now fel warn out with it all0 -
A claims co cannot do any more than you can and have done, what were the 6 claims you had that were rejected and what were the reasons given?.
We can help you with any claims and rejections for free on this site, why pay a company a fee for something you can do yourself? and you will still have to chase Endeavour and ocean as the claims co won't, if this looks like having to earn their % then I am sure they will not take the claim anyway.0 -
If you've already complained once, you cannot complain using a claims company a second time.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
