Hi
There was a very good London tenant advisor on here recently. Must see if we can find him and put you in touch.
That was Ben Rees Lewis. He can be found on http://www.landlordlawblog.co.uk/Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Please guys, when you're advising can you stress 'tenancy period' rather than 'rental period', I know it's usually the same but not always, rental periods can be altered, tenancy periods cannot be altered.
I'm being pedantic ain't I.0 -
Wow I am really thankful for all these messages, I even showed this to my family in Portugal and they all said that you are all being very kind.
I really hope we find a place soon but at least we know our rights now if worst comes to worst.
On that website (landlordslawblog) i couldn't seem to find a contact for that person (Ben Rees Lewis) but I did see a section speaking about contacting an officer in my local council, is this something normal to do in a situation like this ? any opinions ?
Thank You once again0 -
Yes, your tenancy relations officer in your local council should be able to help you out. Have a look on your council website and there should be details on there.0

If you contact them with the details of your dilemma via this link, both Tessa (the site owner) and Ben should become aware. Good luck and please keep us updated.
