No discount on EON final bill

Assuming you have lined up a contract with another supplier, play safe and request a bill from E.On just before your cooling off period is up. The new supplier won't contact E.On until then. After that, E.On could have locked your ability to enter new readings and generate a bill.
The money you'll lose by not getting the discount between then and your final bill is generally very small anyway.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. See Eon Malc's post on this thread which address this.
Sorry for all the questions and thanks for the link which I have read in full. I have spoken to EON and they have said that if I switch from Saveonline10 to their standard tariff I avoid the termination fee and can then switch to EDF (Saveonline10 ends 31 Oct but I want to switch to EDF before its pulled which will probably be before 31st Oct).
I have signed up to EDF and am now in the cooling off period. I am wondering when is the best to switch to EON Standard tariff and should I request a bill before doing so?0 -
Speak to E.On again to verify (before the end of the cooling off with EDF), but I would have thought they will generate a bill when you switch to their standard tariff. If that is the case, you'll have to do nothing, you'll only lose the discount on the final bill generated on the standard account, which won't be for a very long period if you've already initiated the switch.

The issue to remember is that the Real Time Billing function is disabled once Eon receive a proposed switch date. This could come through within days after your cooling off period ends, despite the fact it will have a proposed future date.
So, use this function mentioned on the other thread in post #7 to minimise the loss of any discount.
In your case, you need to change the tariff before this request comes through or they will block your tariff change knowing you are trying yo get out of the early termination charge.
Provide a reading for your tariff change and your switch.
They don't need to create a bill for a tariff change as they can show it in the next scheduled bill as Eon Malc stated.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
