You could also compare their charges for changes. And the type of number they give to call them on.

Out of that list I would personally go for Aviva.

In your 20 years of driving, who have you had good experiences with?

After checking the two sites listed, it would appear Shelia's Wheels offers best value-service-cover ratio. 5* on defaqto, 66% overall on which? and the 3rd cheapest quote I received. Providing they accept me as a male driver (with named female driver on policy) then it looks to be the way to go. Many thanks to everyone for the advice.

edit: ninja'd by rs65 - having never made a claim they are all pretty much the same, currently with autotrader who have been fine aside from obligatory gouging when changing car. Remember being with direct line and budget years ago who were also okay. Plus various policies with whoever were cheapest at the time who again have had no problems with. Will check admin charges before signing up again - thanks for input!
  • Update - huge thanks to all who have advised. Have purchased policy from Shelia's wheels due to good rating on sites suggested.

Cleared cookies and went through TCB for a new quote and after entering accurate details the policy was £20 cheaper than originally quoted on comparison website + potential £25 cashback. Phoned SW twice for clarification and both times got helpful pleasant operators (got a real miserable sod from sainsburys when I called to find who underwrote their policies.)

Got a great price with a company that I'm happy to use, thanks again all!
