Help? Renewal Due on the 01/10/12...Renewal price - £616...new quote...£373?
Options
Both Admiral? WTH? I used their site to get the quote, and they emailed me the renewal quote...I don't understand? I haven't changed anything, still live in the same place, I guess now I have a 1 years no claims, but that's all, and I turned 25...but...I still don't get it?
Why would my renewal price be almost double a new quote?

Because its new business to them.0

As above, it's just how it is.
Get Admiral to match the online quote, if they can't then cancel your renewal and insure via online.0 -
Because they are hoping that you will just accept it. Just ring them up and say you got a cheaper quote online, give the online quote ref and they should match it. I have to do the same thing every year.Slimming World Member - Started 05/02/150

Or indeed just go online and sort it without talking to them.
That way you'll also get the Quidco/TCB kickback that I assume you went for?0 -
It happens with most of them, they fail to understand even basic marketing that it is cheaper to retain a customer than buy a new one.
Have a look at the Directline/Churchhill et al group. Because they are about to be floated off they are giving surprisingly good quotes at the moment.0 -
Wow, thank you so much everyone!! I don't know why I didn't think of these answers haha. I thought I'd done something wrong!!0

I get this every year. My current insurers are always the best with online quotes but its for new business. I ring them up, they ask for the reference number of the quote the website gave and match it. To give them credit, not only did they match it this year but they did it for £5 cheaper!0
