Does the DPS notify a tenant once you register their deposit?

Hi,
If a letting agent registers a deposit on the DPS do they automatically notify the tenant?
Also if a letting agent registers this information on the DPS without notifying the tenant what so ever, isnt this a breach of The Housing (Tenancy Deposits) (Prescribed Information) Order 2007?
There's a case where a tenant wasnt told by the letting agent that they were registered on the DPS until after they moved out of the property in question.

Deposit protection regulation covers 2 points:
1. Lodging the deposit amount in a registered scheme within 30 days of the funds being given to the LL/LA.
2. Providing the prescribed information from the deposit scheme used (usually available on their website), to the tenant within 30 days as above.
Failure to do 1 and/or 2, is failure to comply with the protection regulations as laid down by the Localism Act in May this year. Some schemes (DPS as far as I know), also contact the tenant direct with their own login ID, but this does no preclude the LL from complying with the prescribed information requirements as well.0 -
Thanks

If the deposit is being paid in installments, does it need to be paid into a deposit scheme within the first installment or once the total deposit money has been completed?0 -
i only just received a letter from the DPS thing to say they have my deposit, and i've been in the property for 12 months and 6 days!0

From what I know, unless your LL/LA recently registered your deposit with the DPS you should have recieved this information a while ago (i.e. within 1 month of the deposit being registered)0
