Halifax Clarity Rewards from different account

I have a Halifax Rewards current account and am looking to get Halifax clarity. My understanding is that you only get the rewards part of clarity (£5 a month) if you have a Rewards current account. If this is true, does the card have to be connected to the rewards current account or can you set the direct debit up to another account with another bank? Whilst still getting the rewards...

thanks

  • Just found out myself, it does need to be connected to a Halifax account.

As you found out you need to have an HBOS account.

You also need to spend £300 a month to get the £5 reward on the clarity card.

You don't have to have a direct debit set up to get the £5 reward.
