in Credit cards
Are these of any benefit to the normal bod?
Just looking at this site and they reckon they have a weekly petrol price that is garanteed no matter what the fourcourt price is?

They fix the price on a Monday, using the National Average price (NAP). I use Diesel, so by checking on http://www.petrolprices.com/, i can see that the NAP for Diesel is 93.4 ppl, whereas I pay 90.9, so the Average is 2.5ppl more expensive.
I guess it will be a case of sometimes you win, sometimes you don't, and you have to take into account, where you live, because the Petrolprices.com range for Diesel is 89.9 to 103.9 pence per litre.
Might be better to use a cashback credit card, and earn money back that way.0 -
Are they just for companies?
Are the prices not discounted then?0 -
The application form asks for companies, or sole trader. The prices are discounted on the "average" price, but depending on where you live, you may pay more or pay less than this UK Wide average.0

I am an employee bod, but do alot of driving, just wondering if they would be any benefit to me, if I could get one at all0

I have opened up an Asda Card which I only use for purchasing petrol as I get 2p off every litre. I do not use it for anything else now that I have finally got myself debt free.

Yeah, I've thought about that one, but I haven't got an Asda near me. But as I do travel quite far, I could research if it's near the common locations I go to.
Also have the GE Money card giving 3% cashback on fuel purchases (they don't do this anymore though). As the ASDA card is also done by GE Money, I don't know if I could get that one as well.
Also, I don't know whether it would be any better than 3% cashback?
(Just done calculation:
Say petrol price 85p per litre, 2p off is 2.4%
or petrol price 90p per litre, 2p off is 2.2%
So the 3% cashback is better and I can use ANY petrol station)
Generally would need fuel cards to discount fuel by at least 3p or more to beat my GE Money card. Also, most fuel cards have a fee I hink as well.0
