Thank you all for the great advice! Very helpful post!

Moss5 thanks for such a detailed explanation. It really helped me understand how things work. Are you plumber by any chance?
Goal: Win a car (or cash to buy one :))! -- Haha goal from when I was a student. Never actually won this but got a good job instead.

    What I achieved:
    Car paid in full straightaway.
    Two properties fully paid. Wohhoooo!

Always ask the retailer what the flow rate of a particular tap will be with a low pressure system and don't be fobbed off with a "works down to 0.1 bar" answer because that isn't an answer. Oh yes. In your kitchen the hot pressure will be of the order of 0.5 bar.

    Cheers

I'm retired and not a plumber.
30- years ago, I did fit a shower mixer in place of two individual taps. I used the existing pipework without understanding.
I had connected mains cold, verses hot-tank hot and never got a shower at a stable temperature.
I have since learned that I should have brought a new cold pipe from the cold tank to the bath mixer, thus creating equal pressure in the mixer tap.

dont buy ebay cheap tat as allready mentioned, insist copper tails not the flexible ones. i have been out to 2 bursts in kitchens due to flexible hoses, the quality is very poor.
