Call/Write to Volkswagen UK with pictures of the plugs, copy of the sign off sheet, and details of the dealerships refusal to put this right.
Details here for their customer care team:

Inform them that you are hoping they can help you before you are forced to contact watchdog/trading standards etc.
Once VW themselves get hold of it I should imagine the dealership will recieve correspondence from on high and suddenly want to help you.0 - Volkswagen Passenger Cars

I agree with previous posts about taking it higher in VW. MY mate's mom ordered a Fox from VW when it first came out, and she got messed around so much she went higher in VW and they really looked after her. In the end she got a full refund and bought something else...0

Ditto.
Personally I would just make sure I went down the *full* refund route & would not allow them near the car again. The fact that they showed dishonesty or incompetence by overlooking basic items on a service is reason enough
You never know who might personally bear a grudge in the dealership and might just *accidently* cause more issues which could not be traced back to them. I may be cynical but that's what I would do0 -
Disgraceful, after giving it a 100m welly to make sure it started, went and stopped, he forgot to smear some white grease on the hinges, deserves to be caught.
In all honesty you should get all of your money back and take it to your local, friendly independent. He will actually do the job and take some pride in his work.0 -

Before I started doing my own repairs, I remember taking my car to a local independent who made a complete horlicks of a track rod end change. My car was unable to turn right - it would only just make it round roundabouts (turning left was no problem). He swore blind 'it was like that when it came in'.0 -
Now marlot even the laziest, in fact the laziest, grease monkey would be able to split the ball joint, leave the locking nut in place and unwind a tre and replace it the same way and put the car back on the road with no major change to the steering angles. Are you sure he didn't put a nice fresh tre on a track rod/suspension that was bent out of shape?0
