Capital One - account closure

in Credit cards
Quick question - I called Cap One a couple of days ago and asked them to close my credit card account (woohoo!), I also cut up the card as requested by them. However when I log into their website, it still lets me log in and it shows as a balance of £0 and £200 available. Does it take them a few days to close it? I was expecting to see £0 available surely?
Thanks
Thanks

Give them a couple of days to update their system, check again early next week and it should be closed.0

Yeah, figuring you might have a change of heart and they dont know you have cut the card up.0

ok, I'll give it til the end of the week and then I'll call them. Just want to make sure it does actually get closed. Was hoping they'd get it closed so that it'd show as settled on my credit report this month.Defaultless as of 12th Sept 2012

I took out a cap one card in feb 2004 and closed it down 6 months later. I didnt check my credit report till dec 2011 and when i did, it was still active. Luckily i didnt owe them anything so all i got for it was many years of lovely green ticks.:rotfl:0

Yes, I've seen a couple instances on here where the account has actually been closed which is why I've been keeping an active eye on making sure this one is closed. They already updated my credit file this month do I'll need to check next month to confirm it shows as settled.Defaultless as of 12th Sept 2012
