leaving negative feedback, what to put

Bought an item of childrens clothing, fairly low cost, it arrived far, far smaller than the description, looked liked the item had shrunk considerably. It is of no use to me as fits about 4 years younger child.

Contacted seller, who basically is insisting it's fine, has offered a refund of purchase price only, on return, no postage. I have pointed out in fact if a case is opened she will be obliged to refund postage too. In any case, it simply is not worth opening a case due to the cost of return postage, recorded delivery.

She has sent some very rude messages, and I am about to leave negative feedback for the first time I can remember. I am finding recently there are simply too many sellers sending out stuff that is clearly not fit for purchase and I am merely chucking money down the drain. The cost of returning goods on low value items simply means it's not worth returning and I think unscrupulous sellers know this and rely on the fact that buyers will be heavily out of pocket in returning these items.

What do I leave? Ideas please, don't want to break any Ebay rules, cheers.

I would mention that it had actually shrunk.

Item had shrunk, seller rude and unhelpful.

Don't mention disputes, don't use lots of !!!s, don't use anything like 'beware' or 'avoid' or capitals.

  • Thank you, I was thinking along those lines, but can 'seller rude and unhelpful' be removed by Ebay if seller claims those words are 'personal'. It seems to be quite tricky what you can/cannot say.

I think it would be reasonably factual to say that.

What I think they mean is if you were to call the seller a 'jackass' or an 'idiot' or something stronger.

A conniving seller can often get negs removed (and will often be told how by fellow-travellers), but that above is likely to stay more than a shouty, ranty, insulting neg at least.
