HFC Bank Reclaim

Hi all. I'm currently helping my partner to reclaim PPI on several loans and credit cards, all of which were paid off and closed in 2009/2010. I'm new to all of this so looking for some advice!

We used one of the templates from the PPI guide to write to HFC Bank and ask for a copy of T&C under section 77/78 of the Consumer Credit Act. As the account is now closed, they wrote back and said they are not required to provide this.

I'm thinking of now asking my partner to call them and ask if they can provide a full breakdown of this account, understand they may ask for £10 for this. I'm wondering though, should he just ask them on the phone if he paid any PPI on the account? Or are they unlikely to give him that information on the phone?

Thank you in advance :)

  • I had a HFC loan back in 2003/2004.

    I called them and logged a complaint, I had to fill in a form and sent it back to them, then about 8 weeks later, I had a BACS payment into my account.

    I just called to state that I was misold PPI- I advised that I was misold because I would told that the PPI was compulsory at the time of taking out the loan, I was told that I would not be able to have the loan otherwise.

    By far the cheapest option, but he'll need to still be a customer of the Bank.
    Otherwise, he needs to write a SAR letter;
