Would it be possible to switch from EON Saveonline10 to their Standard Tariff and then to another supplier thus avoiding their £30 exit fee?

Yes, assuming that the ETC does not apply to a tariff switch, only to a supplier switch.

Thanks for your reply macman. My Saveonline10 ends 31 Oct and I am thinking of switching to EDF Blue + Price Promise April 2014 now before it gets pulled, when would be the best time for me to switch to EON Standard Tariff in order to avoid the exit fee?

Today! Blue+ will be long gone by the end of September, it's already been pulled from the comp sites.
If you stil want it you'll need to sign up now and pay the ETC.

If I sign up today, should I also switch my Savonline10 to Standard Tariff today or wait till after the cooling off period or later?
